The credit for creating this remarkable dish goes to the late Savaligeppa Aiholli, who started making Karadant in 1907. As a native of Amingad, his creation soon became synonymous with the town, earning the name Amingad Karadant.The origins of "Amingad's Vijaya Karadant" trace back to 1907 when Savaligeppa Aiholli began making Karadant to provide nutritious food for wrestlers (Pailwans) in the local Garadimane (palaestra). His Karadant quickly gained fame, becoming known as Amingad's Vijaya Karadant.
